MINI-REVIEW--Uinta's 16th Anniversary Barleywine

This is an American style barleywine and comes from Salt Lake City, Utah's Uinta Brewing Company, for their 16th Anniversary which was in 2009. So we've had about a year of aging on this, which we generally like for this style. Comes in at 10.4% which is just right for a blustery cold night in Georgia!

Pours a mahogany color with a two-finger tan head. Shockingly, even after 15 months of aging, the scent is very hoppy! Earthy and a bit more malt as it warms up. The flavor is piney hops with a balanced malt finish and a hint of roasted malts. Starts off very bitter but ends clean.

We'll give this 3.5 out of 5 stars. Very surprised at the level of hops in this after aging and a solid barley wine all around.
